Who is this course for?
This course is for crew managers and watch managers who assess the skills of Fire Fighters undertaking station based training.
What does the course cover?
- The principles of assessment
- Reducing risk of bias in assessment
- Planning and carrying out assessment activities
- Making decisions about competency and providing feedback to individuals.
How will I be assessed?
To successfully pass this course, you will need to complete an online knowledge check at the end. The passmark is 70% and you will get two attempts to pass. Before attempting the knowledge check, you will need to revise the course material.
How long is the course?
In order to complete this course effectively, you will likely spend approximately 4-6 hours studying the material and reflecting on its content. You will need to spread your studies out over a period of time and make notes as you progress.
Is this course for me?
This course is for you if you are responsible for assessing Fire Fighter knowledge and skills as part of station based training. If you already have a workplace assessor qualification you do not need to complete this course, unless you would like a refresher.
